PROFESSIONAL CODE OF CONDUCT & PRACTISE

The General Executive Governing Board (GEGB) of the Consortium of Entrepreneurial Administrators (CEA) has come up with the policies of Professional Body Code of Conduct & Practice for all their qualifications and memberships. Therefore, every individual who are being associated with CEA are requested to adhere to the Code of Conduct and Practice by fulfilling their professional management responsibilities. The CEA’s Professional Code of Conduct and Practice being setup to maintain high quality professional standards of conduct and competence, as well as the personal values, which members are expected to exemplify.


The General Executive Governing Board (GEGB) felt the importance to have in depth review and to revise the CEA’s Professional Code of Conduct and Practice to meet the second millennium’s expectations. This review was carried out at the end of December 2007 and to be implimented from the first day of year 2008. Members should be aware that, their membership may be placed in jeopardy if formal notification and evidence is received by the CEA from any one implying a breach of any section of the Professional Code; such complaint is subject to detailed investigation within the CEA’s agreed policy standards and disciplinary procedures.


The procedures are administered by the Professional Standards Committee (PSC) nominated by the General Executive Governing Board (GEGB). The Committee is assisted by a member’s elcted by the PSC of CEA. The procedures for investigation and conciliation are contained in the Bye-laws and Regulations of the CEA. The Code of Professional Management Practice (CPMP) is divided into sections, relating to member’s own personal management practice; interactions with colleagues; working within an organisation; dealing with customers, suppliers, business partners and other stakeholders; and interacting with the wider community. It also spells out a member’s obligation to uphold the reputation of the CEA itself.


Any Members of the CEA is giving professional advice to all levels of management and with this come the obligation to maintain the professional highest standards of integrity and competence. The CEA, as the professional body, embodies within its policies of Code of Professional Conduct along with its responsibilities, duties and obligations which are required by all members. The CEA abide by the quality standards laid out by UK-Commission for Consistent Learning’s UK-CCL- PQMS 2005. The CEA seeks to encourage high standards of corporate and business behaviour and the sharing of best professional practice. This is to raise awareness of professional business ethics issues, through research, publications, practical advice, and meetings covering national and international issues of business conduct.


CEA’s Professional Code of Conduct is structured on three principles:


  • 1. Integrity, Independence, Objectivity

  • 2. Responsibility to the Profession

  • 3. Meeting the Client's Requirements


These principles are underpinned by detailed rules, which are specific injunctions, and practical notes. The CEA Executive Management Council, from time to time, issue further principles, rules or notes which will be published in the CEA’s publications before being incorporated into a revised edition of the Professional Code of Conduct & Practise. Members are expected to abide by all such new provisions from the date of their publication. The principles, rules and notes of the Professional Code apply not only to the members personally but also to acts carried out through a partner, co-director, employee or other agent acting on behalf of, or under the control of, the member of the CEA.


Competence

Members only accept work that he/she is professional qualified and competence to perform and in which the client can be served effectively. Being a professional member of CEA will not make any misleading claims, unethical behaviour or advice and if required must be able to provide references from other clients to satisfy the professionalism.


Confidentiality

Members will hold all information concerning the affairs of clients in the strictest confidence and will not disclose proprietary information obtained during the course of engagement by the client. It is also required by all members to keep all the information of their confidentially and not to pass the information to any other organisations or individuals for any monetarily value.


Due Care

Members will have to ensure that all advice, solutions and recommendations are based on thorough, impartial consideration and analysis of all available pertinent facts and relevant to professional experience and are realistic, practicable and clearly understood by the client. All CEA Members who are in private practise providing professional services must ensure that the client satisfaction is vital important. If it is not maintaining, it is a breach of the Professional Code of Conduct laid out by the CEA.


Respect and Non-Poaching

Members will act with honesty, courtesy and consideration towards the individual’s contacted in the course of undertaking assignments. Members will not promote or give confidence to any employee, client for whom the member is working to consider alternative employment, unless it is the purpose of the assignment.


Disciplinary Action

Members are liable to disciplinary action if their conduct is found, by the Disciplinary Committee, to be in contravention of the Professional Code of Conduct and Practise, or to bring discredit to the profession or to the CEA. In accordance with the By-laws, members may be required to make a declaration in answer to enquiries concerning their professional conduct. A member failing to make such a declaration may be found in breach of the Principle to which the rule or note relates. His/her membership will confiscate with immediate effect and if necessary will be notified to local legal authorities.


Professional Obligations

Members shall have respect for the professional obligations, qualifications and for the membership of CEA when working with others who depends on your professionalism. Members referring a client to another management consultant will not misrepresent the qualifications of the other management consultant, nor make any commitments for the other management consultant. Members accepting an assignment for a client knowing that another management consultant is serving the client will ensure that any potential conflict between engagements is brought to the attention of the client. When asked by a client to review the work of another professional, a member will exercise the objectivity, integrity and sensitivity required in all technical and advisory conclusions communicated to the client.


GENERAL ADHERENCE TO CODE OF CONDUCT BY ITS MEMBERS

Members of CEA hereby give the undertaking of professionalism stating that


  • 1. Will further the objectives of the CEA in as far as they are able

  • 2. Will not bring the CEA or its members into disrepute

  • 3. Shall not wilfully give the CEA false, inaccurate, misleading or incomplete information.

  • 4. Will abide and liable to disciplinary action if their conduct is found, by the Disciplinary Committee of the CEA’s to be in contravention of the Professional Codes, or to bring      discredit to the profession.

  • 5. Will act in accordance with the Bylaws that may be required to make a declaration in answer to enquiries from the CEA concerning their professional conduct. If failing to      make such a declaration will abide to which the rule or note relates.

  • 6. Shall be a fit and proper person to be a professional member of the CEA by being of good reputation and character without conviction of a criminal offence or committal under      bankruptcy proceedings or censure of disciplining by a court of regulatory authority or unethical or improper behaviour towards members or the general public.
